Residential Building Law

I want to build a house but want someone to look at the contract.

If you're looking to build a residential house in NSW, you will be presented with a building contract by the builder.  It can feel like you're flying blind, reading through all the building terminology and trying to understand the staged payment structure built into the contract.  Talk to our Building Law team, who also have lengthy real world building and engineering experience, to get you some clarity on the contract terms and what your rights are when building a home.

I'm building or I've built and there's defects but the builder won't fix them.  What can I do?

There are lots of rights and remedies built into legislation when it comes to residential building work.  Speak to our Building Law team to see what the next best step is for you to take control back.

I've done work for a builder as a subcontractor, but my invoices aren't getting paid.  Help!

Our Building Law team has extensive experience in dealing with the debt recovery under the Security of Payment Act and can help you get a system going to secure your cashflow and make sure you don't miss out on getting paid for work you have done.  Follow a few simple steps to gain the protection put in legislation for "subbies".

Call 0422 632 219 to speak to Nick in our Building Law team, if you want more information.
